"On the last Saturday of April each year at 10 am, tens of thousands in hundreds of cities, in over 70 nations come together... to breathe together... to provide a healing vision for our world."
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day on Long Island, NY
Shorefront Park in Patchogue Long Island is one of the many locations around the world to hold the World Tai Chi & Qigong Day annual event. This year the event had to be postponed due to rain. The rain date will be Saturday, May 3rd, 2014.
When I arrived at Shorefront park the sun was shining, and the sky was blue. The temperature that morning was close to 68 degrees. The park is located on Long Island's Great South Bay. Even though it was sunny it is always chilly by the water this time of the year.
World Tai Chi and Qigong day is a great day to take advantage of free Tai Chi classes on Long Island. There are quite a few Tai Chi instructors who are willing to share their Tai Chi and Qigong knowledge with the public at this free Long Island event. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, participate, and learn about Tai Chi and Qigong.
If you plan on coming next year, please wear comfortable clothing and bring a light jacket or sweatshirt with you.
Tai Chi is a daily meditative practice meant to relieve stress, improve posture, and balance.
